Serendipity, opportunity, good luck, fluke or something else? Sometimes, images in encaustic art just pop-up into the pathway. This is one of those.
I’ve called it “By the pool” and it is one of those images that finds itself created during the process – letting go and allowing imagination to fly free, just like those little dragonflies. Imagination is, after all, one of the things that reveals our unique perspectives, our individuality finds manifestation. For me it is a mirror of ideas, some light-filled, some darker too. With courage we can allow these potentials to emerge, and sometimes they bring illumination and great satisfaction. I hope you like this image too, and I hope you also fly free into your own unique expressions.
This began on the Compact hotplate, dragging the A5 card lengthways through bands of wax with the light colours in the center. After that it was mostly worked with the new Stylus Pro using the drawing tip.
Imagination is helped by allowing hte mind free reign, just witnessing the existing and letting un-thought-of ideas pop into the mind’s eye.
