The Discovering Hotplate course is a wonderful way to explore and develop your hotplate and wax skills with Michael Bossom and Wemke de Jong. Together they present an evolving set of exercises and ideas that will teach you many ways to work successfully with the hotplate using card and encaustic art wax block colours. There is a lot to learn and this is a great way to do it!
Michael Bossom will teach you how to improve your waxed landscapes using the iron, stylus and encaustic art wax block colours. Many people get stuck on the postcard sized cards, creating repetitive landscape images and unsure of how to move forwards or take the leap onto larger cards. This course can help you break out and move on in the landscape subject matter. Get a new view!
Flowing Wax is another course by Michael Bossom that uses the hotplate as the main tool for melting the encaustic art wax block colours. Other waxes can work, but these are the ones he uses. Learn from him how to create beautiful flowing and fluid backgrounds and abstracts. These backgrounds can be developed off the hotplate, when cool, using the other tools, especially the stylus. If you watch the Introductory video you will see and understand better what this is about.
Stamping with ink or wax can be great fun and offers a lot of creative potential, especially for cards. Michael Bossom makes this a fun project type of course, where you will learn to use Frame Stamps in a variety of ways.
