Michael Bossom . Wales I have lived in Wales amidst rugged nature since 1962. In 1987 I started to work with heat as a solvent for wax. In artwork I refer to this process as "encaustic" & take that as meaning "to burn in" which implies heat as part of the process. My main effort has been to bring a set of simple techniques to a broad market. This has stimulated much activity both across Europe and around the world, helping inspire the manifestation of several ranges of encaustic products;: heat-tools and waxes. The artwork and ideas here are not all to do with Encaustic art, although that seems to be what I'm best known for these days. |
